Teddington Society Award for Elleray Centre Design
Today, we accepted a Design Award from The Teddington Society, at The Elleray Centre. The event was attended by Clive Chapman Architects and members of the council, including Council Leader Gareth Roberts. The Society’s Planning Lead stated:
“The new Elleray Centre has been designed to be neighbourly and not dominate the surrounding area. The form of the building fits very well with the generally domestic architecture of its neighbours and is appropriately modest in scale.
The materials used pick on the traditional colour and brick styles of local houses and the development includes a very pleasant garden at the rear with more planting on Middle Lane to soften the impact of the site.
This new building has replaced a run-down car park with an attractive and vibrant centre which is an accessible asset for all the community.”
