What is required for a riverworks application?

Your scheme may need planning permission from the local authority, for instance, if it is a permanent structure. We can prepare the necessary drawings, coordinate reports and liaise with structural engineers as necessary, then submit for planning approval.

Local Authority Planning Approval

Most river works require an Environmental Permit from the Environment Agency. We can prepare and submit the application on your behalf, liaising with any specialist consultants.

Environment Agency Permit

Port of London Authority Licence/Regional Equivalent

Works/structures in or over Port of London Authority-owned or regional waterway must be licenced. We can prepare and submit the application, liaising with any specialist consultants.

There are a number of structural engineers, marine and civil engineers that we work with to compile applications for riverworks including Pat Walsh Ltd. - a family business with over 40 years’ experience, particularly with waterborne construction on The River Thames, and Eel Pie Island Boatyard who have been on Eel Pie Island, Twickenham, since 1997.
