Planning Approval for new dwelling in Central Richmond

We have achieved planning permission for a new two-bedroom flat above the existing building, and changes to the elevation at 25-26 George Street, Richmond.

The site is located within a designated Primary Shopping and Key Business Area but the proposal does not create a loss of office, commercial or other employment space. It presents an opportunity to utilise the space above the existing commercial premises for a new residential dwelling. It is situated within the Central Richmond (CA17) Conservation Area.

The proposal for an additional storey with changes to the front and rear elevation at 25-26 George Street presents an opportunity to provide a new 2B4P residential unit and enhance the visual quality of the existing building whilst remaining sensitive to its context. The current proposal represents a clear and considered departure from the earlier mansard approach with a contemporary, lightweight and varied roof extension.
