Clive Chapman Architects were introduced to Thames Valley Housing Association by the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames urban design team.  Our brief was to produce a scheme that was contemporary in detail but sympathetic to the surrounding vernacular and street patterns of Church Street and Twickenham riverside conservation area.  Due to the planning problems prior to our involvement and the allocation of Housing Corporation funding which had been drawn down, a scheme had to be designed and a consent obtained within five weeks of receipt of the client brief.
