Extension and Refurbishment of an existing 1980’s office building on Esher Green for the Healix Group of Companies.

The project includes a new front and rear glazed extension providing improved reception, circulation, and office spaces to the ground floor as well as informal break out spaces and meeting rooms above. Also a third floor roof extension with terrace, providing improved staff facilities and conference room. The existing offices will be completely refurbished with the provision for brise soleil to the existing façade, improved landscaping, screening to the northern boundary and improved cycle parking. The gross internal area of office floor space will be 1,990 sq m, an increase of 400 sq m.

This will be a highly sustainable building designed to maximise thermal efficiency, minimise solar gains and air leakage. Natural ventilation, exposed ceilings, solar chimneys with heat recovery, biomass boilers with adiabatic chillers, and solar hot water heating are all items currently being considered to minimize the CO2 footprint.
